Korean Air Airlines
Korean Air is South Korea’s largest airline, offering more international destinations and flights than any carrier in the country, serving 20 domestic destinations and 130 overseas. With over 23 million passengers annually, Korean Air features among the leading 20 airlines in the world in terms of numbers carried, while its fleet of 155 aircraft also make it the largest carrier in the region.
Originally formed in 1946 as Korean National Airlines, the company began operating as a privatised airline in 1969. Korean Air is also a founder member of the second largest alliance in the world, SkyTeam.
Korean Air, which has demonstrated an excellent safety record in recent years, has received a variety of awards including Asia’s Best Airline in 2012 according to votes cast by readers of ‘Business Traveler’. The airline is also a sponsor of the 2018 Winter Olympic Games.
