Cathay Pacific Cathay Pacific

Based at Hong Kong International Airport, Cathay Pacific is the territory’s largest airline, serving 200 cities in 52 countries globally. Founded in 1946, Cathay Pacific initially operated flights to Bangkok, Singapore, Manila and Shanghai but has grown to become the third largest airline in the world based on its market share; its cargo operation is the largest of its type and it also owns a subsidiary airline, Dragonair.

Cathay Pacific’s fleet comprises 146 Airbus and Boeing wide-bodied aircraft, with another 85 on order for delivery during the next nine years to maintain the airline’s reputation for having one of the youngest fleets in the world (the average age of its aircraft is only 8.5 years).

In 2014 Cathay Pacific won the Airline of the Year accolade and has been named World’s Best Airline on four occasions. In addition, the airline has been recognised for excellence as an employer and for its outstanding safety record.
