China Airlines China Airlines

China Airlines is the national airline of the People’s Republic of China, operating in excess of 1,300 flights weekly to 91 cities across the world in Asia, North America, Europe and Oceania.

Established in 1959 by a retired air force officer, China Airlines initially operated charter flights using only two planes, but gradually expanded its domestic and international routes over the next two decades. Today it operates 83 aircraft and is undergoing a major renewal programme which will see the acquisition of a number of new planes.

China Airlines has been at the forefront of pioneering new technologies aimed at improving passenger’s pre-flight and in-flight experience, such as check in by mobile phone, on-board WiFi and multichannel entertainment (which also offers passengers the opportunity to enjoy external views from the aircraft). The company’s Boeing 777-300 also features a galley bar and social areas for business class passengers.
