Air France Airlines
Although nationalised in 1945, Air France in fact dates back to 1933 and the golden age of air passenger travel. It has its headquarters in Tremblay-en-France, close to Paris, and serves many destinations, both domestic and international. It has in the region of 168 international destinations in its service roster and provides both passenger and cargo transportation.
Well known for its flights to France's overseas departments, Air France carried in excess of 77 million passengers in 2014 alone. In 2003, the airline's flying capability was significantly augmented following a merger with KLM. Soon afterwards, Air France was ranked as the largest European airline, boasting over a quarter of the market share in 2004.
Under the Air France and KLM brands, the airline boasts some 543 aircraft in its fleet. Of these, no less than 168 aeroplanes are engaged in long haul services.
