Japan Airlines

Established in 1951 as part of the post-war recovery plan, Japan Airlines is the national airline of Japan and the second largest air carrier in the country, operating an extensive network of routes that serves 220 destinations in 33 countries across the globe in Europe, North and South America, Oceania and Asia. As a member of the world’s largest airline alliance, oneworld, Japan Airlines also codeshares with partners on a number of routes to extend the travel options for passengers.

Each year, Japan Airlines carries over 50 million passengers and in excess of a million tonnes of cargo on its fleet of 166 Boeing aircraft. In recent years the airline has invested in introducing new technologies into the cabin of its aircraft, including the MAGIC multimedia system featuring a variety of films, audio programmes and games, USB ports for mobile device connectivity and external cameras displaying views from the cockpit, wings or tail.

Japan Airlines has won a host of industry awards including the ‘Best Business Class Airline Seat’ at the 2013 SKYTRAX World Airline Awards.
